Kickstart Scheme – Apply to work with us!

We have recently won 2 Kickstart scheme opportunities. This means we have 2 jobs open for individuals who are between 18-24 and are on Universal Credit. These opportunities also come with training, and qualifications. If you’re interested, the opportunities we currently have are:

Kickstart Scheme

Office Administrator

The main responsibilities of the Kickstart scheme employee will be:

1. Administration support in the office, such as filing, photocopying, and other office duties.
2. Marketing the business through social media, flyers etc.
3. Researching into possible tenders and bids available to the organisation.
4. Researching into possible marketing opportunities and support in social media activities.
5. Answering the phone, email and more to enquiries
6. Working with other volunteers at our office
7. Updating company’s KPIs
8. Supporting colleagues in office duties and marketing works.
9. Any other office duties required.

Language Academy Wales is an academy offering;

English language courses, volunteering and internship opportunities, and youth employability skills in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom. Our internship, volunteering and professional development training programmes are specially designed for local, European and overseas students. We are also promoting various fund raising projects and activities in our Cardiff office to support various humanity projects partnering with NGOs.
We are a training academy (i.e. a registered Not for Profit company), supported by part-time staff and local volunteers. We are an approved European Solidarity Corp (ESC)/European Voluntary Services (EVS) accredited centre, working on Erasmus+ KA1, EVS, KA2, VET, Lottery Community Fund and other fundraising projects.

The experience / essential skills required are:

1. Ability to use a PC or Laptop and associated MS programmes.
2. Able to work in a team environment.
3. Able to solve problem and make decision relating to office administrative duties.
4. Able to communicate with others in the office environment.

The qualifications required are:

1. GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent.

What can you offer the applicant?

We can offer work experience for the individual which will help their general employability. We will also be offering coaching and mentoring throughout the project to ensure the individual gains skills such as professionalism, communication, problem solving and more. We will also offer a buddy for the individual to work with who can advise them on how to do specific work, if they have questions then they can speak to the buddy etc.
