Dr. Cafer Yildirim from ESOGU, the legal representative of ESC, experienced in sending/hosting volunteers and coordinating projects with his international partners and volunteers since 2010. He creates opportunities and gives training for young people in the local area to raise awareness and have a volunteering experience abroad.

To date, Language Academy Wales (an approved EVS/ESC) centre has collaborated with Dr. Cafer for over 4 years and have hosted over 10 long and short terms EVS/ESC volunteers. We have hosted many European young people volunteering on cultural experience and internship in Cardiff, Wales with LAW and CCW-Training Academy.

Our latest Turkish volunteers Miss Irem Urgen from Turkey, with an engineering background, gaining more workplace experience and skills such as; project management, administration, verbal English communication skills, marketing, tendering, and Erasmus+ projects experience while undertaking her internship with Language Academy Wales (LAW). This volunteering experience has given Irem the opportunity to improve her English language, learning Welsh and English cultural experiences and be able to explore/site seeing parts of Wales and England.

Statement from Mike Tan, the director of LAW:  “I am delighted to say that Miss Irem Urgen has excelled in her internship as she has produced high quality works and is a valid member of our delivery team. She is a roll model to all Turkish volunteers, and I can only say that we were very fortunate to have received such a committed, hardworking and innovative volunteer. Needless to say, Dr. Cafer’s selection protocol is of a high standard. No doubt we will carry on collaborating in the foreseeable future”.
